Built for Outdoors
Designed for sun, weather and temperature variation using a UV stable coating system.
Looking for an outdoor concrete finish that’s durable, practical and visually connected to your interior floors?
The Spec Floors Pavilion Finish is a purpose designed outdoor concrete system developed specifically for areas exposed to the elements. It combines a full exposure grind with a textured acid etched surface and clear coating system that delivers a finish that is UV stable, hard wearing and safer underfoot for outdoor living.
This finish is ideal for alfresco areas, patios, pathways and pool surrounds, and is designed to visually complement any internal polished concrete while performing in exposed conditions.
Designed for sun, weather and temperature variation using a UV stable coating system.
A full exposure grind (approx. 5mm) combined with acid etching creates a textured surface, helping reduce slip hazards in wet conditions.
Matches beautifully with internal polished concrete and blends with a wide range of other floor finishes in adjoining spaces.
Sealed surface reduces dusting and simplifies routine maintenance.
Suitable for newly poured concrete, Pavilion Finish is outstanding in outdoor areas exposed to weather. Nicer underfoot than old style exposed aggregate while delivering a natural stone look to:
Note on fully under cover areas: If an outdoor space is completely protected from rain and weather, MPC or Grind & Seal may also be suitable. We’ll assess your space and recommend the best system for performance, safety and long term maintenance.
Aggregate exposure: Includes a full exposure grind, typically removing approximately 5mm from the slab to reveal the stone within. The concrete mix including aggregate and any oxide selections determine the final aesthetics.
Surface texture: The acid etch reacts with the concrete to create a textured, non-uniform surface, improving slip resistance while maintaining a natural stone appearance. Unlike rough exposed aggregate, the raised stones in a Pavilion Finish have been ground flat and are much nicer underfoot.
Sealer: Finished with a UV stable, solvent based acrylic sealer (two coats standard) to protect the surface and enhance durability. Satin or gloss options available.
Edges: Optional bevelled or bull nose edges can be added for steps and exposed edges.
Pavilion Finish should be completed before adjoining finishes such as joinery and final painting to avoid damage during grinding and etching.
Please note:
Routine cleaning: Hose down or mop with water. Use pH neutral cleaners only if required.
Protect the surface: Avoid dragging or dropping heavy or sharp objects; fit felt pads to outdoor furniture.
Resealing: If water no longer beads on the surface, it’s time to reseal. Expect reapplication every 5–10 years under normal residential conditions. Cure periods apply.
