One of our favourite floors

This is what happens when the mix is right, the timing is right and the build team is on the same page. The Cavalier display home at Leneva gave us a great canvas to work with — a Wodonga quarry mix slab with good aggregate distribution and consistent stone through the pour.

We took it to full exposure and pushed the gloss up, and the finished surface has the kind of depth and clarity that stops people at the door. It’s one of the best examples of high gloss mechanical polished concrete we’ve delivered in the region.

On new builds like this we work in two stages. We come in after cure to do the initial grind before frames go up, then return before fit out to complete the polishing sequence through to high gloss. Getting that first grind done at the right point in the build protects the work and lets the slab settle naturally through construction. It’s a detail that makes a real difference to the final result.

The display home is open daily from 12pm to 5pm at 24 Jennings Boulevard, Leneva, Victoria. It’s worth seeing in person — the way light moves across a high gloss polished floor at different times of day is something photos don’t quite capture.
