Mechanical Polished Concrete, Full Exposure, High Gloss — Commercial Renovation Albury NSW
This building in the heart of Albury had a floor that looked well past it. Dusty, worn, the kind of surface that makes a commercial space feel neglected before anything else goes wrong. But underneath all of that was a slab worth saving — and once we started grinding, it told us its own story.
Full exposure, high gloss. When we opened up the surface we found a mixed history — different pours over the years, different mixes, different aggregate distributions all sitting within the same floor. In another context that might be a headache. Here it became the best thing about the project. That variation, that layered history, is something you can’t replicate in a new pour. It gives the floor a depth and authenticity that makes you look twice.
The high gloss finish does the rest. Light bounces, the space opens up, and what was a forgettable commercial floor becomes the first thing you notice walking in. The building is now a modern, versatile space ready for its next chapter — and the floor sets the tone from the moment you walk through the door.
There’s also the practical side: no grout lines, no coatings to reapply, no soft surfaces to wear out under foot traffic. A mechanically polished floor in a commercial building will outlast almost every other option — and it only gets better with age.
Before you write off that concrete floor, talk to us. We’ll assess the slab, tell you honestly what’s achievable and show you what it could look like.
